OK about 4 months ago I moved from Utah to Florida (I drove my car) before I left Utah I went to the DMV and asked them if I could keep my car registered in Utah while I was in Florida for school and they said yes it was legal and they gave me all of the Paperwork. Well I get to Florida and my mom sells her car so she and I are sharing my car which means she put me on her insurance. My car registration isn't due until September so that's when i plan on registering in in Florida but is it illegal for me to have utah registration with a florida license and insurance?

Here in Oklahoma, as a student you'd probably be OK, at least around here (some of the bigger police depts might be pickier, I dunno), but if I saw the insurance, it would raise questions in my mind.
Depending on your demeanor/honesty, it would still be my discretion.
People that move here don't have any set time to change their license/plates over, it just says when they take up residency, & I once heard a trooper tell a guy that in his opinion if your buying groceries or working is good enough.
I try to look at it as in the whole picture, since someone that has just moved already has had some major expenses, so if everything is valid (drivers license/car tag from whatever state/insurance), then I usually just tell them to get it changed over before they run into someone else.

Personally, i can care less. I leave it to the DMV to find out petty stuff like that.
