okay fellas, the fiancee is planning on applying to become a South Carolina State Trooper.
few questions:
1.) yall know of any websites where we could get trooper info?
2.) do you have to live in the same county you work in?
3.) any helpful hints?
4.) anything else you can throw in?
oh one more. wayne has smoked weed twice in his life, well over 3 years ago. will this affect his chances of becoming a trooper?? thats the only illegal drugs he's ever used.

thanks for the wonderful reply.
The key to it is that he has to be 100% honest. Like I said on another forum, I've been in on oral boards before. People that say they've NEVER smoked weed are looked at with quite a bit of suspicion. The reason we ask that question is to see how honest people will be. Weed is not looked at as this heinous evil drug by most officers, contrary to popular belief.

one of my buddies father just retired from the NH state police force. he was second in charge or some where way up the top of the toldem pole. he said a while back that the best thing you can do with the boards is tell the truth.

I smoked weed once in high school for expermental purposes 2 years prior to my drug test and it didnt show up. I even told them i tryed it once in high school. They understand people try stuff when they are young, no biggy. Just be honest about it.
I dont know if you are required to live in the same county, but they will send you anywhere in the state they need you most. He will be given a list of his choice of 2 countys, with no promise he will get placed at that particular one, but im assumeing they will try to work with you. You also dont want to live to far away from the county in which you work. Does he have any college?

Here's my honest answer, I've never smoked weed. Now would that really throw up a red flag to say that I might have been telling the truth even though I did? Only police contact I've had is a speeding ticket :(
