Street drag racing. How illegal

I was wondering how much trouble you'll get in if your caught street racing?? Also who is the cop most likely to go for if one runs and one stops. And what if both run who do you go after.

Oh yeah. If there are a bunch of cars speeding on the highway in a group, which one do you pull over? :cool:

Heh, this reminds of my friend's older brother who was telling me about this. Hes in a Jap car crew (cept' he's white, go figure) and there are about 45 cars in the whole thing. The cops found out about stolen parts from various places and decided to bust the crew. In all honestly you can't do much when you got 45 cars running from police. My friend's brother got away with ease, at least thats what he told me :squint:

I'm going to assume that to or three cars would'nt be hard but at the same token it would'nt be easy either. Then again, I'm not a cop ;)

just take out the stolen car parts and replace them with dvd players and stuff, say nawws a couple times and you got yourself a hit movie :thumbup:

I go for the one that doesn't pull over first. If neither want to stop, I go for the lead car. The one that gets away, well, I have a good memory. You're liable to go to jail the following weekend for failure to signal intent to turn.

about 7 years ago, I got busted for street racing. it was a spot that was raced in alot around my house, I was just the unlucky one they decided to do something about. anyways, they were in the cars at the light behind us (about 200ft back) and unmarked, just cruising around waiting for some one to race to bust. this mustang fag walks up and says "you gonna race that thing?" and ofcourse I HAD to race him, since he was calling me out. so we heat em up and all and stage at the light, light turns green, we go, lights come on behind, I let off immedietly and pull over, the stupid mustang stays on it and gets away while the FAT LAZY popo pulls behind me.

so to answer your question, they go for the easy kill. :mad:

but I was doing it, so how can I complain really. :angel:

they didnt get him down the street either, I had lots of friends that were taking off in all directions at that point, and no mustang pulled over down the road. plus, the buttholes put me int he back of the car and drove me around for about 45 mins. while waiting for the towtruck to take my beloved car to jail. then they let me wald home at 1:00 am from a somewhat seedy part of town.

no flame here, just getting my experience out.

Ive been let off by way more nice cops for other stuff then Ive been pulled over by barnie badass looking for someone to feed his ego on. chris

Ok dredging this post up for obvious reasons...

picture this -- the guys who raced have slowed to the limit and THEN the cop pulls up behind one of the two racers. the cop clocked the trailer speeding and the lights go on but no sirens. the guy in the other lane only gets the spotlight on him for a second before the racer in front of the cop pulls over. the cop pulls over with the guy in front of him and never gets on the loudspeaker or sirens for the other to pull over.

the other guy never stops but drives away normally.

if everyone says that they would go for the runner why did the second guy get away???

cant they get the other guy when they obviously got the plates or were they just too lazy to look up an out of state plate and said F**K it??

maybe because the cop never indicated the other guy should pull over he got off but I dont know.

Last August I got pulled over on Westheimer(street of the Huge K-Mart bust) here in Houston. I thought that I was going to jail, because most of my friends who had been pulled over there had gone to jail, I just paid a $220 fine and was on probation for 6 months so I guess you can say I got pretty lucky. I guess it depends how fast you were going and if the cop is in a good mood or not.

Like I said, (this is an old post BTW, I forgot I said that) one or two cars, okay but when you got a whole crew running, it's doubtful that any cop would close in on the "lead guy". What's he gonna do, try to over take the crew to get to the front, what is this a fucking nascar race?
