Its a "2nd chance". I got sized for it my 1st day today i got it and am wearing it to work. I havent checked what threat level it is becaus i havent taken the panels out. The only thing i like about it is that its lighter then my personal vest, which is a 'saferia land' threat level 3 which protects against heavy rifle fire. it feels like a big armored tank compared to my new vest which dosent seem as thick and my saferia land seems to protect a little more body then this "2nd chance". Only thing about the saferia land is that it was made back in 1994 and was probabily used. But the main thing about this second chance, is that the velcro straps dont have alt of velcro to cling to around back, mabey a 3 inch triangle that isnt long enough to make the straps comming from the front to line up right and not enough room for them to securly and snugly cling to...

Second Chance vests are generally good. I watched Rich Davis (the owner of Second Chance) shoot himself four times with a .44 mag while wearing one of his vests. Yes they were full power .44 mags.

As for a Level III stopping rifle fire, NOT A CHANCE!
Never happen, never will. A .223 will go through that like a hot knife through butter.

Last time I was at the range, a guy decided to do a demo of, as he put it, "why police don't like AR15's."

Basically, he had this plate of some metal. About a quarter inch or so thick. Propped it up... and laid into it with his M4... every round went thru it like it was nothing.

So I guess when they say they are armor piercing rounds, they really mean it..heh. I definately wouldn't trust hardly anything to stop rifle rounds.

BTW, teh second chance vest is good, give it time to mold to your body, you'll like it, trust me.

What do you mean we don't like AR15s??? I've got 1 Colt & 2 Bushmasters (1 is an M4 LE model), & love them.

Of course, I really would rather that nobody shoots in my general direction with them! Ha!Ha! :D
