I got this in an email.

".....One may well wonder how any group of men could perform the tasks required of policemen. The citizen expects police officers to have 'the wisdom of SOLOMOM', 'the courage of DAVID', 'the strength of SAMSON', 'the patience of JOB, 'the leadership of MOSES', 'the kindness of the good SAMARITAN', 'the faith of DANIAL', 'the tolerance of the CARPENTER OF NAZARETH', and finally, 'an intimate knowledge of every branch of the natural, biological and social sciences. If he had all of these, he might be a good policeman."

Nice.

Kamaro, nice post. I believe you mispelled "Solomon" and "Daniel" though.

the other day a NY State Trooper was shot in the back and killed on a domestic dispute. was on a domestic when the ex-boyfriend showed up and shot the trooper, killed his ex-girlfriend and then killed himself. the trooper was 25 and had just gotten out of the academy. its not all doughnuts and writing tickets...............

Some towns in upstate NY are patroled by the State Troopers. They ride single car and sometimes respond by themselves because their nearest partner maybe 30 or so miles away. No one should ride alone. Not worth losing your life over your pay because no one can back you up.

Should read: "If Kamaro had any of these, he might be a good policeman."
