Who would be interested in a LAKE TAHOE gathering/cruise?

I've been wanting to do this for some time but need people to actually commit to it so i can plan. I am from South Lake Tahoe so i can set something real nice up.

I think the potential for this is huge. I am thinking a July or August thing when the weather is warmest.

So, you interested at all?

A gathering like this sounds sweet. If we could somehow get more people interested, it'd rock. Cruise around the lake, like you've suggested before, and have a good time. I'm not sure when everything is happening, but at the last gathering we were talking a little bit about having a gathering for Hot August Nights. I think that would be really cool.

Hot August Nights is hella cool and I'll probably be going. But when I'm at Hot August Nights I'm not thinking about thirdgens......I'm drooling over all the classic muscle.

Ok.....here is my rough (and original, wanted to do this already....) idea of this thing....

Originally I was thinking of a Northern CA thing and meeting up in Sacramento to drive up to Tahoe. However, obviously anyone is welcome to come.

So....my idea...

Meet up in Sacramento (for those that apply....) early on a Saturday morning. Its about an hour and half drive from downtown Sacramento in good traffic. We leave and cruise up Hwy 50 which is a pretty decent drive (real scenic and fun if you've never done it). Get into town around 11ish a.m.

Cruise to my house (?) or the car wash if needed and clean up the vehicles. Now we head into town and to the beach! (Not really decided on what beach yet)

Find a place to park all the cars together, ideally in front of the Lake, and hang at the beach and have a BBQ. Eat, drink, chat, take pictures, etc etc....

Around 2ish (?) Get in the cars and we head out of town on Hwy 89 North going out around Emerald Bay ( amazing scenery and beautiful picture opportunities). Continue along the west shore of the Lake (mostly right on the shore and close to the water).

Possibly stop at a little Cafe or grill on the North shore and grab a bite, take some pictures etc...

Come back along the East shore where we take a quick trip up into the hills and down again (about a 1000 ft elevation change), this is fun :)

Then as we come back to the South Shore we are met by the towering sights of Ceazars, Harrah's, Harvey's, and The Horizon :D .

Stop in at the nearest casino for some night life!

For those that wish to stay the night and party, or just stay for another day..... I should be able to arrange some kind of deal at the Embassy Suites as I have a good friend working there.

Anyhow, the drive around the Lake is simply awesome. Amazing views of the mountains and the Lake, Emerald Bay is beautiful, and there are tons of opportunities for really incredible photos.

How's that sound for those that wanted more info. ?

Would this Tahoe gathering be a modification of the 3/1/02 Sacramento gathering? Or would it be a seperate event?

There is still snow up there right? Still really cold? If so, we should plan a Tahoe cruise for late spring (April/May) ?

It sounds cool to me, I've never been up to Tahoe for anything other than skiing with my family, and that was years ago...

We need to figure out exactly where and what we are gonna do for the March 1, 2002 meet... cuz it's only 2 weeks away....

Originally, we were all going to head up to Sac on Saturday and BBQ, then later that evening cruise around the city and maybe check out the race scene or somethin for those who want to stay out till like 1-2am...

Eitherway, we need to start working on the March 1st meet.

Bad406Z mentioned a March 1st gathering in Sacramento a couple weeks ago shortly after the 1/26 gathering...

March 1st is actually a friday... I'm sure it'd be better for everyone if the meeting was on Saturday during the day.. so we'll have to clarify of that...

I don't know what he had in mind exactly, but I remember him saying we could hang out till nightfall and cruise around the city and hang out etc...

I think it sounds fun, especially since I missed the 1/26 event and it's been awhile since I've kicked it with fellow 3rd Genners....

As for Blown WS6's (Trevor) April 5-6 BBQ gathering, that is still being planned out and will occur as far as I know, I intend to be at that meeting myself.
