Hoping to get the service for a long time but being repeatedly told it wasn't available, we finally have the service. However, we've been working with ameritech for 3 weeks now trying to work the bugs out. Their tech suppport was of little use over the phone, their outside service people were telling us the lines were clean and the techs were saying otherwise. We were sent two modems, neither which worked, and a few other problems kept surfacing, all keeping us from being connected. In the meantime, we've been getting charged since mid-January for dsl services not-rendered and the usual dialup service as well. Finally today after an internet tech from ameritech stopped out, we seem to be connected and credited for that time we weren't online. A little late but worth the speeds we're seeing. :)

Its a PITA but I couldn't go back to dialup.

Congrats, Rob!

What kind of speeds are you seeing? I've been on the fence for a while wondering whether or not to make the leap. Do you feel it's worth $40/mo?

Its great isnt it. Im not running DSL though, im on a cable connection. When i download movies, sounds and so on i usually average around 300k/sec. A slow download for me is 150k/sec. Man i love cable.
