do you make them take off their shoes? Just curious because I was thinking the other day, you can hide shit in there.

You can, but usually you you just feel around. When you get to the jail they will make that person remove their shoes anyway...... But it all depends on the situation and what i was searching for.

I check the tops of the socks. If you're walking around with weed under your friggen foot, then you deserve to smoke it! :D

Lets say you have a bag of weed, like a dime or something small. You get pulled over but it in your shoe where you foot curves, so you aren't walking funny anything. Believe me, once I was walking around with a hash pipe in my shoe, it didn't look obvious but it looked like I had a gimp. If I had a bag of weed, however and I got searched, the cop would have no idea.

Also, when you search cars, where are the places that you check. I had anohter idea about this. You can easily fit a couple of joints in the mirror of you sunvisor, if you have the kind that flip up. I've done that before. Also, if you transporting also of illegal shit, hit it in your door card. In the extremes, I've seen people take off the tire and tape a bunch of shit to the rim of their car, on the inside. But you can easly tape shit under you car too.

What about you asscrack too? Never done it but I think you can get away with it.

On the side of the road a cop is only goind to search reasonable places, like every compartment and up under the seats an shit...

About hiding stuff in your butt crack, of course the cop isnt going to make you strip down naked on the side of the road and have you pull apart your cheeks. But once your booked into lockup and the guard pulls out the rubber gloves you might as well give it up becaus your about to strip down, bend over and pull your cheeks apart for observation.... And if you dont pull them ALL the way apart, they will go right on up in there reaching around.

I can think of many many places that would never get found. If a cop is going to search your car, he isn't going to take it apart, piece by piece. You're set so long as you aren't trying to cart around 20lbs of coke or something :)

I don't smoke my namesake, but I have given hiding locations some thought, on my more bored occasions. Good locations?

Spare tire/jack and stuff? No. Too obvious.

Inside the speaker panels is a good one. Dunno how 3rdgens work, but on a 4thgen, all the speaker panels just pop off. On the rear seats especially, when you take off the grille, you can see the whole inside of the side of the car. There's enough room to tape something to the other side of the plastic interior panel easily. No cop is going to remove your entire LARGE side interior panel to see if anything is on the other side. Nor do cops probably realize how easy it is to get the speaker panels off.

The under-dash plastic panelling is also especially easy to remove. Both sides are held on with 2 plastic pushpins, that's it. There's a HUGE mess of wiring harnesses and the like under there as well, easy to tape something to the other side of a big mess of wiring, so even if the panel were removed, it wouldn't be visible.

Stereo/climate control trim is another good one. It pulls off without any tools, and there are gaps all along the sides of the stereo. There is an especially large gap on the right side of the stereo that you can't see into.

The center console (which comes off with 2 bolts, there is plenty of empty space where the shifter is and so forth), and the area between it and the AC/stereo stuff. It's actually completely wide open in there, I've run many wires through my firewall, and into that area, up to the stereo. Again, 90% of it isn't visible, but you can feel all of the empty area.

The rug can also be pulled back in that same area, you could easily toss some stuff under the rug.

I keep my laptop in the car ( and old thinkpad ) that has Autotap on it, it's obviously for diagnostics and so forth. However, a few clips and the keyboard lifts off, revealing plenty of free space underneath. You could even slide something underneath the PCB boards in there to make it invisible. I don't think ANY cop in the world is going to ruin your laptop by pulling boards out.

The rug in the rear hatch also comes out really easily if you know how. Anyplace under there is good. There's even ridges on the rear deck that you could put things in, and it wouldn't even raise up the rug.

My 12 disc changer, with the magazine removed, has a big gap where the cds go when they are loaded. Just don't load any CDs :)

If you really want to get crazy, the tranny crossmember is hollow, but has holes in it. I've run my wires for my trans temp sending unit all the way through it. The holes are big enough to stick your fingers in and tape things in there. However, this would require crawling under the car. Good for if you're really paranoid too. On that same note, the drain plugs for the floorboards are good for the same thing.

Heatshields under the car are good (on the other side of them that is, so you don't bake your goods :) )

Stuff in the engine compartment is another good for the ultra paranoid. Fuse boxes are good, the tray on top of the radiator is another good one. On my 4thgen, the area underneath the headlights (where the foglights are), is basically completely empty. It's mostly not visible unless you lean forwad towards the engine, and then look back towards the front of the car.

And no, I have never actually hidden anything in my car, nor had anything to hide. These are just some of the things I note when I work on my car. Most of my interior panels have been out at some point in time, and I noticed some interesting things about them :) None of these places would EVER get found, unless they brought out the dogs. Then, the locations external on the car that I spoke of would probably work pretty decently. They usually sniff inside the car, if I remember. No one's gonna be under the car, because you would really have to jack up a car that is as low as an fbody, to be able to search it.

Oh, and why did I post all that?

I don't know, I think I've been waiting for an excuse to tell someone all the good places I have noted, but never had a good reason to blurt them :)

I also didn't mention the best ones, because I may someday have a use for them :)

Nothing we don't know about. This is Ask A Cop, not smuggling 101. Locked.

Up to the elbows, baby! :D

I actually don't know....when I transport my prisoners to the jail, I "release custody" to the deputies in there and they do their job, doors closed. And everytime my prisoner comes out, they always seem to look more tired than when they went in. Never bothered to ask...never really wanted to know.

Just an observation :)
